Birth & Philosophy of a Wine Bar

Bruce & I are half way through our lives……
Worked really hard in the first half….
Wanted to really enjoy the next half…….

We sat down to consider what sort of work would we enjoy now that we are making a real choice?
Criteria 1; LIFESTYLE original idea? Who doesn’t!!!!! Boring but true!

In our spare time we loved to surf, eat, drink & relax with friends, family & each other.

Bruce originally thought of a Delicatessen serving great food that people can easily share & sorely absent in this town….but a great one popped up just as we were considering this.

I had come from Beechworth VIC, an awesome area for great wines & regional foods, and had worked, a lot, in various aspects of the wine & food industries.

Ping! WINE BAR- Surf in the morning then go to work in the afternoon and share the joy of-

                                In Great, relaxed, beautiful surroundings

NOW…just to find a venue……

The Bermagui Co-op marina was proposed, at the beautiful Bermagui Harbour next to HORSESHOE BAY
&
We live across the road from the beach at CAMEL ROCK.

Marina?...overlooking the harbour?.....Perfect…found the venue!…..& ..AN IDEA IS BORN!!!!!!!

We have never worked in hospitality, but have always loved entertaining, with an open house, where family and friends can always drop in, often ending up in great gatherings & impromptu afternoons and evenings of conversation & laughter over sipping wine and nibbling food.
We believe if we can emulate this atmosphere…& with our enthusiasm, our customers, friends & families encouragement & criteek….. we can do this! The wine will be good, the food will be simple, the outlook gorgeous. So please join us on this great ride and together, we know, we can make “HORSE & CAMEL Winebar Bermagui” work!
